JOINT AGREEMENT: Union contract covering more than one employer and a union, more than one union and an employer, or a number of employers and a number of unions.
JONES PLUG: THeatrical term for multi-prong electrical disconnect.
JOURNEYMAN: Worker who has satisfactorily completed an apprenticeship in a skilled trade.
JUNCTION BOX: A distribution point for electrical power.
JURISDICTION: 1) The jobs that may be performed by a specific labor union. 2) The locality where a contractual dispute is decided.
JURISDICTIONAL DISPUTE: Conflict between unions concerning the right to control certain jobs in a particular trade or industry.
JURISDICTIONAL STRIKE: Work stoppage as a result of a jurisdictional dispute.
