W & I : An abbreviation for Weighing and Inspection.
WAGE PATTERN: The wage structure of various jobs in a specific industry or area.
WAGE RAGE: Rate of pay per period of time or per unit of production for an employee on a given job.
WAREHOUSE: Building where goods are stored.
WAREHOUSE RECEIPT: A receipt issued by a warehouse listing goods received for storage.
WASTE REMOVAL: Removal of trash from building.
WAYBILL: Description of goods sent with a common carrier freight shipment.
WHEELER: An upright, manually propelled, two wheeled cart used to move objects such as boxes.
WING NUT: Commonly used threaded nut with flanges for easy adjustment by hand. (Also called a Buffer fly Nut).
WIRE NUT: Plastic thimble with recessed spring which closes spliced wires so that electrical contact is maintained.
WISHBONE LEG: Fold-up leg on a display table.
WITHOUT RESERVE: A term indicating that a shippers agent or representative is empowered to make a definite decisions and adjustments abroad without approval of the group or individual represented. (See advisory capacity.)
WORK RULES: Regulations which govern union craftsperson's working conditions, include what work exhibitors may perform, when overtime begins, ect.
WORK TIME: Paid time that begins as soon as the workers are turned over to the exhibitor. Stops when the exhibitor releases them.
WORKING DRAWING: The detail plans from which an exhibit is constructed.
WORKING FOREMAN: Employee who functions both as workman and a foreman at the same time. May be a workman part of the time and a foreman the rest of the time. May or may not be considered a supervisor under the Wage-Hour Law or the Labor Management Relations Act.
